Feels like it.

Anyways...I got THE most amazing Christmas present... (It was the only one I got. But It'd still be the best even if I got like a car or something silly and random like that!)

This book 'Voguing' is incredible. Has the most amazing images and interviews. I've been sold on the whole New York ballroom scene since I watched 'Paris Is Burning' earlier last year. It's very much become...my life. I'll do a post on it another time if I remember!

Anyways...aside from that... what else is there...?!

I just thought back to being at school and it was all about graffiti, so I wore the bag out, made it dirty and drew all over it. I did name drop a bit though and wrote the names of the people I looked up to in year 11 when I was in year 9. Today we’re wearing my little brother’s school uniform.

Ok so I've got a question...

How do you feel about new technology? in terms of the whole bloggy, twitter, tumblr thing?

I personally am totally lost in the middle. I hate it. But I love it. What I hate about it is what I love about it. What I love about it is what I hate about it. To be honest. It's kind of the main reason I don't really do much on here any more. So for those of you who have just joined ITOOOS (I'm The only one on my street - I obviously think I'm Tyra Banks?!) I'm sorry that you've met it at such a bleak point. If you haven't noticed then...I take that back!

But yh...So I was saying. I don't know if I've said this before...? I won't be suprised if I have, it really bugs me. I hate not knowing where I stand! Ahh. Ok back to me saying what I was saying...

*scratches knee*

Yh. So, the love, hate thing. I hate that everything is so easily accessable. But then I love it. I hate that EVERYONE now is a blogger. But then I love it. I actually hate the word blogger. That I really dont love. Ok but I love how much young people are ineterested in creativity and all that jazz. But then I hate it because it's become the norm. I love that everyone now has the oppourtunity to voice his or her opinion but then I hate it!

Do you get my drift. Now don't get me wrong. I totally fall into it all. I just don't know whether I want to. Hence my reclusivness.

When I started the blog I wanted to be heard. I have no idea why. It's funny, because I feel like where I am now in life. I have so much more significant things to say then I did at that time...

I do ask myself, why am I not am I not saying it...?

Then I kinda go on this mental tangent and shut down!

See. I kinda feel like i'm the only one being hindered here? I feel like the kid sitting in the corner alone because there might be glass in the sand. While the whole class plays peacefully in thata very same "dangerous" sand. And to be honest. When I put it like that. I kinda makes me feel sick. I've never been that kid. I've never ever liked that kid!

I should just ride the wave no?!

Ok so theres alot running through my head right now....

But. Me sitting here typing, knowing I'm gonna click "publish post" is extremely settling. I remember the feeling. The feedom to vent. Venting, not caring about who's reading. Simply just putting it out there. Thats All.

Heeyyyy!

Ok so, its been a long time since 'Day 2' of the New York trip...The whole regular update thing did NOT work.

I'm not really good the whole blogging/documenting thing anymore! Not sure why, but...Meh! That's why the gaps between posts have been so big lately. I used to type so freely and it was nice, I wanna go back to that. I'm so all over the place these days...its very annoying.

Anyway.....

New York. Seeing as though I started the story, I think its best I finish. I'm a mess. I have the attention span of something ridiculous. Things change, with me, faster than... I'm sorry, I have nothing funny to fill in.

Ok so yea, just to give you the basic rundown!

So we went. Stayed in this amazing dingy shack for 7 days - and basically in those 7 days, I got crazy homesick (Can I just take a moment to formally announce that London is amazing! Thank You.) and we found out that out that the place we were meant to live for the duration of our stay (18 more days) wasn't available - FAIL.

Sooo. I decided to come home. Rhiannon's a solider, she stayed on.

And basically that was the New York story. Didn't go as planned, but hey, such is life! I still had a real good time to be fair.

I fell in love with all the dirty brick apartments with stairs on the outside... Yes Please... gotta get me one of those...

And the subway staions...

Ohhh and this...this is definitely one of the best things I've seen in my life so far... the 9/11 tile tribute

Not many things can shut me up, but that definitely did...

New York has some amazing attributes...it's a beautiful city, filled with amazing people...

All the things you're supposed to see and like...I find pretty boring to be honest...

So I'm sitting in my kitchen. JUST finished packing - I think!

I'm leaving my house in about an hour, I haven't slept but although I should be shattered, im not.

I always do this to kinda stuff to myself when I travel...! Oh, I lost my phone yesterday so I'm pleasantly pissed about that!

I was told today that in Kenyan culture, something bad has to happen before a trip for it to be a success. It made sense so I'm hanging on that.

I do believe it! Something dyer ALWAYS happens. I'm so used to it, whenever it does I just continue life.

I used to do this yearly trip to butlins (I don't wanna talk about it), when I was younger, with family, and I never got to take my phone - which to be fair in like 2005 was a BIG thing right?! - because I'd loose it a few days before! That happened like 3 years in a row I think - No thank you!

Mind you, it's always got something to do with a phone. I'm not a careless person either, I don't usually loose thing's but when I do, it lasts for like a month. Arghh.. I'm scaring myself now.

This trip needs to be AH-MAZING!

I'm thinking regular updates?? Yes Please!

Going to the airport in a full tracksuit, bomber & black lips. Why not?

The W Project is this amazing exhibition starting in a few hours that runs through to the 11th. Basically celebrating creative women for the 10th anniversary of international 'Women's Day'.

Now I'm not a woman, but the project was co-curated by one of the most amazing women in my life - Loren Platt, so I'm all for it! (That was really cheesy, but its true!)

It's gonna be real good, You've got guest speakers Caryn Franklin and Fred Butler dotted in there somewhere, Oh and Naomi has some exclusive work exhibited.

And then a pair of white Doc Martens. They'd be the only pair of White footwear I' want to keep clean. I wore them out a few nights after and that all went out the window. I'm yet to give them a wipe. They're just sitting there battered and bruised!

I was walking through Brixton station and saw the magazine hanging at the News stand. I ran over and was like "YES PLEASE!"

That was a very nice feeling. Ha!

I'm officially back in the swing of the Uni thing...

I'm scheduled 12 jam packed weeks of research, projects and crits. The plan for this term is to stay on top of EVERYTHING! And also to experiment as much as possible. NO FEAR!

Today consisted of Naomi and I taking pictures of young amazing sporty/streetwear kids...

My Christmas project - '20 Straight-up streetstyle photos of a style tibe that inspires you'

So obviously I had to do this...I'm realizing more and more, just how much young street/ghetto/urban (however you want to put it) kids, interest me. And, I use the term 'kids' very lightly.

But yea....Heres one I really liked...

We went to an Aquarium...

Basically, I'm one of those people who is scared of any and every annimal...

So I was scared (don't laugh...)

But then I got over it, because they're behind the thick glass...and unlike dogs, they couldn't gobble me up!

I drooled over Naomi's henna...

She tried to be modest!

She drooled over the new hair... So I just stared blindly back at her...

And, I didnt wear a long coat today...I dont think I've worn one all week...?

Sidenote - I've kinda just noticed that I hardly ever smile in photo's...It's really bad!

I'm gonna fix that!

First things first...

I've sorted the hair drama...

It's a mess now, I need to get it re-done! I havent had to say that for years...since I used to look like this...

OK, so - You might have noticed, that in recent times, when I post pictures of myself, I havent really been doing that 'what I'm wearing' thing...?

Yea, I dont really do that anymore, I dont really get it...

I know most bloggers do it...but most bloggers are wearing Acne boots and Comme des Garçons shirts... I'm not!

I very willingly get most of my stuff from markets and charity shops...No, I get all of my stuff from markets and charity shops!! (Just in-case you ever wondered)

It'll all be too repetitive... Shirt: Market, Jeans: charity shop in Brixton, Shoes: Charity shop in Deptford! - Don't you think...?

Also, these days...I layer clothes way much...It's all to long to remember, let alone document.

Ok so what am I getting at...?

Nothing to be honest...I just want to spend abit of time with you...

No really - I do!

Well...I also wanted to just show you a few things from my wardrobe, the favourites, the things that get the most airtime...

So this...this is literally my skin!

I cant remember the last time I left my house without one on. It's the black polo neck. I get them from H&M. One of the only high street items I have - and I have it in bulk haha! Not not really!

And I wear this with everything too! Its like a long flow'y sheer...thing!

Over, under, on show, or hidden...It'll definitely be somewhere!

This baby is just about stuck on me too...Not every day, but almost

My Lee jeans. I wear these inappropriately high! And whoever had them before me must have been extremely short, because he/her re-hemmed them, they end half-way up my shin!

And some more string vest...I have about 4, this one definitely gets worn the most!

This is the newest edition...My day walked in yesterday and said its for you from...(My cousin)

I was TOTALLY confused...! I wore it today, it will definitely get worn alot!

I have the other one, but that one's quite annoying! This one's bigger!

Then shoes! I'm a crazy shoe dude! I have like 20 pairs (I bought another pair to day actually...21?) Now, I don't think that's alot, but people say, that 21 for a guy is ridiculous...?!

I beg to differ!

Anyways, like every shoe lover with 'alot of shoes', I only really wear 3! The Dr Martens and these 2...

And then there's these...I call it my clutter! You cant really see much, but it makes a nice picture!

It's quite a big list, I've been thinking alot these days you see...I've had to resolve on a lot of things!

Ok so today I spent the day with 'my mate Gehna' who you should all know by now!

Naomi came to disturb us for a minute or two...

We sat and talked in Brixton's classiest coffee place (Nero)...

Then Naomi left...

Then Genha and I trotted off to hipster city to do the charity shop run....

We came back to south, and stopped at the Elephant & Castle market...where I bought 2 ghetto rings...

I've been terribly infactuacted with him for ages now.

I've got loads of his images scattered across my wall...I need loads more, I want to create something similar to this...

If I can actually do it without getting bored...my life will just make sense! Like how amazing is that....

It's like the best feeling ever...I was a little light headed walking out of the shop though!
